A visit to Silkeborg

Saturday September 19th, the University Chaplains invited international students on a trip to Silkeborg, in the heart of Jutland. Here we visited the museum Jorn, took a boattrip on the beautiful Silkeborg lakes and climbed Denmark's highest point, "Himmelbjerget" (sky mountain).

A group of international students joined the University Chaplains for a saturday visit to Silkeborg, where they got to experience some of Denmarks most beautiful places. The day was a succes, with an interesting visit to the museum Jorn, which hosts a unique collection of art - including his major work Stalingrad - by Asger Oluf Jorn (3 March 1914 – 1 May 1973), a Danish painter, sculptor, ceramic artist, and author and founding member of the avant-garde movement COBRA.

After a beautiful boattrip on the Silkeborg Lakes, everyone climbed "Himmelbjerget", with its 147 meters is Denmarks highest point.

The University Chaplains hope to be able to plan more trips to some of Denmarks beautiful and famous locations in the future.
